Debbie Alamrew is a poet and spoken word artist of Ethiopian descent who discovered that putting pen to paper gave her a powerful voice that has had a restorative effect on her life. Her debut book of poetry, A Purpose Pursued Passionately is Powerful, explores the four themes of legacy, love, loss and liberation, which have been most dominant in her life. She writes from her heart and embraces her vulnerability as her greatest strength.

 

She was the host of Amplified Voices, a show dedicated to highlighting Black voices around the world that are making an impact within their respective industries and the culture as a whole. She has interviewed the likes of Ethiopia Habtemariam (Chairman/CEO of Motown Records), TJ Adeshola (Head of Global Content Partnerships, Twitter), Mumu Fresh (Grammy nominated singer & songwriter), and Congresswoman Karen Bass to name a few. As a master moderator she has also curated and led several necessary panel discussions for media platform Amplify Africa.
